New Delhi – Bajaj motorcycle manufacturers decided to pull out of the plan of making a cheap car with Nissan and Renault. Prospective competitors cheap universal car Tata Nano was also killed. Bajaj in 2009 had announced plans to make cheap car for U.S. $ 2,500 to be marketed in 2012. But the project is so abandoned because there are differences between Bajaj and Renault-Nissan.
Bajaj, the second largest motorcycle manufacturer in India was going to design and make the car. While Renault and Nissan will provide marketing services.
The idea initially, the car will compete with universal cheapest car Tata Nano, but Bajaj concluded that the plan was not feasible and Renault agreed.
“We do not want to get into the car business that profits a little. We do not want to lose our capital,” said Bajaj Auto Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj.
Well it seems the title will be the cheapest car universal long-held by Tata Nano.
